Minnesota State Fair Grandstand
Built to shelter thousands of spectators at what was then the only major racetrack west of Indianapolis, the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand was built on a poured concrete substructure. Because of the primitive techniques of the time, Grant employed a crew of more than 250 men in its construction, which took one year. The grandstand is still in use today, and the track remains one of the major attractions of the annual state fair, second largest in the nation.
