GEO. GRANT CONSTRUCTION

James J. Hill House

Because of its long history as the original builder of some of St. Paul's oldest and grandest mansions, Grant Construction was given responsibility by the Minnesota Historical Society for the total renovation of the historic Hill House, the home of legendary railroad builder James J. Hill. Originally constructed in 1888-91, the home's renovation included both interior construction and complete reglazing. Grant was the builder of Hill's daughter's home; the home of Fredrick Weyerhaeuser; John R. Mitchell and other Summit Avenue mansions built around the turn of the century.
